Machine boundary / bottle movement

Air Conveyor, Bottle Infeed and Outfeed Interfaces

A filler cannot achieve stable output if empty bottles arrive poorly controlled or filled bottles cannot leave. The quotation must identify the infeed and outfeed handover points, not just the monoblock.

Answer first

Confirm bottle neck, conveyor height, direction, speed, guide range, buffer and control signals. If existing conveyors remain, provide drawings, photos and measured elevations before the interface is approved.

01

Suitable for

Projects that match this page decision

  • New fillers connected to an existing blow molder or bottle supply
  • Plants replacing a monoblock inside an existing conveyor route
  • New machine-plus-interface packages
02

Not suitable for

Boundaries that need a different platform or review

  • Assuming an air conveyor is included without a line item
  • Ignoring filled-bottle back pressure and accumulation
  • Approving layout direction without site measurements
03

Inputs required

Evidence to provide before confirmation

  • Bottle neck and body dimensions
  • Infeed/outfeed elevations and direction
  • Upstream and downstream rated speeds
  • Layout, available length and control signals
04

Machine function

What happens at this machine or decision boundary

  • Air conveyor presents empty bottles at the agreed neck-handling point.
  • Infeed transfer synchronizes bottle spacing into the rinser.
  • Outfeed removes capped bottles and manages the first downstream transfer.
05

Configuration decisions

Options that must appear in the proposal

  • Included conveyor length and supports
  • Height adjustment and guide range
  • Starvation/blockage sensors and interlocks
  • Basic outfeed versus longer accumulation section
06

Interface requirements

Upstream, downstream and utility handovers

  • Mechanical centerline, elevation and support locations
  • Electrical power and emergency-stop boundary
  • Speed reference, ready, run, fault and blockage signals
07

Buyer risks

Questions to close before order

  • Bottle scuffing, tipping or jams at mismatched transfers
  • Machine stops caused by insufficient buffering
  • Late civil or layout changes after manufacture
08

FAT checks

How to verify the agreed basis

  • Use representative interface sections or documented simulation.
  • Test starvation, blockage, stop and restart behavior.
  • Confirm bottle stability at entry and exit at the accepted speed.
09

Quotation scope

What the commercial offer should state

  • Lengths, elevations, directions and support scope
  • Motors, fans, sensors and controls
  • Interface signal list and responsibility
  • Installation and site measurement obligations
